The Academy Awards are our favourite awards ceremony of the year – they’re synonymous with high octane glamour, bedazzling jewellery, show stopping dresses and overly dramatic speeches.

Cliphair’s award for the Best Dressed of the night goes to beautiful Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence. The 22 year old won the prestigious Best Actress Award for her role in Silver Linings Playbook. Wearing a beautiful cream strapless Dior Haute Couture dress the young starlet looked elegant and ethereal, a great advertisement as the new face of Miss Dior.

The dramatic dress gave her a fairytale princess look, which she accessorised only with a thin necklace and large earrings. Jennifer detracted slightly from the honour of winning Best Actress award when she tripped on her way up to the stage to collect her award, a misdemeanour she laughed off in her acceptance speech. Jennifer wore her hair swept up, which allowed her dress to do the talking and showed off her natural beauty, which was highlighted with minimal makeup. While Jennifer’s hairstyle was probably created with the help of a team of experienced hairstylists, it’s a look that can easily be achieved by you at home, with a little patience!

If you have particularly thin hair, you may like to clip in around half a set of hair extensions to give you more hair to work with, this will bulk up your hair, and in turn give it more of a ‘celebrity’ look. Jennifer Lawrence has a dirty blonde hair colour, and would suit our Dark Blonde (#14) hair extensions or our light brown #18 hair extensions which are also known as darkest blonde . To recreate this look, begin with straight hair. Brush all your hair back, so you have no parting. Then backcomb to give height to the hair. Separate your hair as if you are doing a ‘half up, half down’ style and secure the top half with a thin clear band. Then join both halves of hair together and swirl to form a sleek chignon. Secure with hair pins invisibly!.

    Helena Bonham Carter

Our Worst Dressed prize has to go to actress Helena Bonham Carter. The talented Les Miserables actress turned up in a shabby chic dress which kept her figure under wraps. Staying true to her British roots the star wore a dress by quirky designer Vivienne Westwood which was made of layers of black, white and grey fabric.

The actress, who is married to director Tim Burton completed her bedraggled look with unbrushed, heavily backcombed hair swept into a messy up do and gothic makeup. We’d love to see Helena sporting a more feminine and glamourous look – how gorgeous would she look with long, sleek hair? We think she should check out our double weft hair extensions in #4 Medium Brown.

    Adele

Adele is known for playing it safe in classic black gowns, but divided opinions earlier this month when she appeared at the Grammy awards wearing a garish printed pattern dress which many critics described as ‘curtain like’!
The Someone Like You hit maker decided to return to what she knows best in an elegant black number at the Oscars – knowing all eyes would be on her as she was nominated for her Skyfall track and was also performing infront of the A List audience.

The 24 year old who has recently given birth to a baby boy, Angelo, looked happy and confident as she posed on the red carpet in her sequinned black Jenny Packham gown.

Adele’s hair was a highlighted blonde shade which she wore in a half up, half down style with her fringe styled in a centre parting. Her hair looked extremely thick and healthy, something which can easily be recreated using double weft hair extensions. 15 inch hair extensions would be great for someone looking to recreate Adele’s hair style, as they would add thickness but look natural in length.

    Liberty Ross

Having recently put herself back on the market after filing for divorce from her cheating husband Rupert Sanders, Liberty Ross went all out to make a point to her ex. At the Vanity Fair post Oscars party Liberty smouldered in a revealing dress which left very little to the imagination. Despite most of Hollywood’s finest opting for floor length, demure and elegant dresses, Liberty clearly wanted all eyes to be on her with the racy choice.

The 34year old mother of two wore towering strappy heels which showed off her tanned and slender pins. She showed off her flawless skin with natural makeup. Liberty’s enviously thick black hair was loose and tousled – adding to her sex appeal. Check out our hair extensions in Natural Black shade (#1B) to get her look.

    Anne Hathaway

The 30 year old actress had a great night at the Oscars, taking home a gong and impressing fashion critics with her elegant look. She made a dramatic entrance at the Dolby Theatre in a blush coloured Prada gown, which had a criss crossed back. The Les Miserables actress accessorised the halter frock with a delicate charm necklace and matching earrings.
Anne hacked her glossy brunette locks off especially for the film role, which has now grown in to a pretty pixie style.

    Jessica Chastain

Jessica Chastain looked stunning in a figure hugging dress by Armani Prive which showed off her enviable figure. She joked that her style was ‘happy birthday Mr President’ – paying homage to old school
Hollywood glamour. Her ginger hair was in pretty waves which looked stunning against her porcelain skin. To get her look check out our hair extensions in Strawberry/Ginger Blonde (#27).
