FAQ's
Are 20 inch extensions too long?
Not at all! For most people, 20 inches reaches the lower back, which gives you gorgeous length without looking extreme. They're one of our most popular tape extension lengths because they strike that sweet spot between noticeable length and a natural look. That said, the final result depends on your height and where your natural hair sits. If you're on the shorter side and want something more subtle, a 16 or 18 inch option might suit you better.
Where should 20 inch tape in extensions be placed?
Tape-in extensions should always be fitted by a qualified hair extensionist who'll know exactly where to place them for the most natural result. Generally, they're applied in layers throughout the mid and lower sections of your hair, avoiding the hairline and parting so they stay completely hidden. Your stylist will customise the placement based on your hair type, density, and the look you're going for.
What's the longest you can leave tape in extensions in?
Tape-in extensions need refitting every 6-8 weeks. As your natural hair grows, the tape bonds move further from your roots, which can put strain on your hair and make the extensions less secure. Leaving them in longer than 8 weeks isn't recommended as it can cause tangling and damage. Your hair extensionist will remove them safely, apply fresh tape tabs, and reattach them so they sit snug against your scalp again.
