The awards season is among us, which means our magazine pages are filled with an abundance of beautiful hairstyles!

The Emmy Awards in Los Angeles was the event to be seen at for any self respecting starlet, and the celebrities didn’t disappoint with their array of glistening hair-dos.

Amy Poehler set off her daring Stella McCartney gown with glossy waves which looked effortless but were the result of some serious styling with curlers and gel to achieve the super slick look at the crown of her head. Her look screamed sex siren as her luscious blonde highlights betrayed her Californian roots.

Julie Bowen, winner of award for Best Outstanding Comedy set off her striking lime green dress with a half up – half down style which didn’t overpower her outfit and showed off her flawless makeup to perfection. The style is easy to recreate and is great if you want to look stylish when in a hurry.

It seems waves were the order of the evening as stunning beauty Sophia Vergara rocked a Zuhair Murad dress with loose curls cascading down her back. This looks feminine and classy without looking stuffy or overdressed as up-dos sometimes can. Sophia keeps her raven locks in perfect condition with plenty of deep treatments and regular trims.

Heidi Klum kept her supermodel crown – again with loose waves. She had visible blonde highlights through her ash blonde hair – adding a sunkissed summery look which complemented her gorgeous and bang on trend pastel gown.

Nicole Kidman stood out from the crown with her sleek straight hair. Nicole is famed for her gorgeous strawberry blonde locks, and this style set them off to perfection. She had a centre parting, which flattered her face shape and also showed off her gorgeous features. To recreate this look, you should straighten your hair, and then use a good serum in order to tame any flyaways and get a real sleek look. I would recommend Keratin Revolution’s Keratin Infused Reviving Serum.

Downton Abbey actress Michelle Dockery was looking stunning in a Louis Vuitton gown and was one of the few celebrities to have their hair swept up, Michelle used a pretty hair accessory to spice up her pretty ballerina bun. Michelle’s deep auburn locks were looking ultra glossy, one might say they looked similar to a well polish mahogany table. This style screams old school sophisticated glamour. With a loosely pulled back bun, her slender features are flattered and showed off to perfection.

Beautiful Hayden Panettiere looked mature for her 23 years in a stunning Marchesa gown. Her hair was slicked back into a messy bun showing the thin line between glamourpuss and rock chick. With her hair in such a style, her earrings are on show and she looks a million dollars. Her hair is an ashy blonde tone with a few streaks of lighter blonde, thus creating a beautiful two tone and highlighted effect.
