Can you use normal shampoo on hair extensions?
No. You should only use sulphate free shampoo on human hair extensions, this is to protect the quality of the hair and the bonds. Cliphair’s quench the thirst deep moisture range is completely sulphate free meaning it is totally safe to use on any human hair extensions.
What is sulphate?
Sulphate is a cleansing ingredient found in haircare products that strips dirt, grease and oil away from the hair and scalp. This can be dehydrating for hair extensions as they need to retain some of the natural oils to remain healthy. Sulphate can also loosen permanent hair extensions, especially tape ins as the adhesive becomes weaker.
What is sulphate free shampoo?
Sulphate free shampoos use a milder cleaning agent to cleanse the hair and scalp without completely stripping it of its natural moisture. They are also far better for coloured hair as they reduce the amount of fading between washes.
How often can you wash hair extensions?
Over washing hair extensions can cause them to feel dry and dehydrated. For Clip-Ins you should wash them every 10-12 uses unless they desperately need washing in between. For permanent extensions such as nanos, weaves or tapes you should try to limit your washing to 1-2 times per week.
What is special about the Cliphair Deep Moisture Shampoo?
Unlike other sulphate free shampoos that can be quite thick and sticky in texture, the Cliphair Deep Moisture shampoo produces a good lather and has a loose consistency which means you will not need to use tonnes of the bottle to properly clean the hair. The product is easy to disperse around the scalp and has a deliciously rich shea butter scent that adds deep moisture to the hair leaving it visibly softer and shinier.

The conditioner is lovely and thick and even on my hair having so much I only use around a 50p piece size which also makes this incredible value for money. The only thing I will say - and this is completely personal preference I do wish the Scent in these products was stronger it's got a beautiful coconut / shea type Scent to it but unfortunately after blow drying the Scent is gone from my hair (though it's clean so I can't complain!) That being said as that is my only criticism, I would repurchase this!
